Breakfast is often called the most important meal of the day, and for good reasons. I love breakfast! It can also help you regulate your appetite, prevent overeating later in the day, and support your cognitive functions and mood. Energize your morning with these quick, easy, healthy breakfast recipes!
On the other hand, think about skipping breakfast. When you have lunch after having skipped breakfast, don’t you feel fatigued, and unmotivated? For me personally, my afternoon’s were not very productive after lunch if I skipped breakfast. That is why I try my best to always start the day with a nutritious breakfast.
In this blog post, we will explore some quick, easy, healthy breakfast recipes, the benefits of a nutritious breakfast and some tips on how to make it a part of your daily routine.
Start with Protein!
Does getting protein into your system early in the day help regulate blood sugar during the day? This is a common question that many people have especially those who are concerned about their health and wellness.
Protein is a macronutrient that helps build and repair tissues, hormones, enzymes, and antibodies. It also plays a role in regulating blood sugar levels which can affect your energy, mood, and appetite throughout the day. Protein helps slow down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates which can prevent spikes and crashes in blood sugar. This can also help you feel fuller and more satisfied for longer, which can reduce cravings and overeating.
According to the American Diabetes Association, people with diabetes or prediabetes should aim for 15 to 20 grams of protein at breakfast which is about the amount found in two eggs, a cup of Greek yogurt, or a serving of lean meat. However, even if you don’t have diabetes, getting enough protein in the morning can benefit your blood sugar balance and overall health.
Some easy ways to add protein to your breakfast are:
– Scramble some eggs with spinach, cheese, and salsa for a filling and flavorful meal.
– Blend some Greek yogurt with berries, banana, and almond butter for a creamy and delicious smoothie.
– Toast some whole-wheat bread and spread some peanut butter or almond butter on top for a quick and easy option.
– Make some oatmeal with milk or soy milk and add some nuts, seeds, or protein powder for a boost of protein and fiber.
– Cook some quinoa with milk or water and top it with fresh fruit, nuts, and honey for a warm and cozy bowl.
Getting protein into your system early in the day can help regulate your blood sugar during the day as well as provide other benefits for your health and wellness. Try some of these ideas to start your day with protein and see how you feel.
For me personally, a friend who lived in our home back in the ’70’s used to make fish burgers for breakfast. He explained that he did so because fish were high in protein which, according to him, regulated your blood sugar levels during the day. I tried it. Fish burgers or a toasted fish sandwich. Equal parts of mayo and relish was the tartar sauce I used. I used to love the English style battered fish sticks! And you know, he was right! Getting some protein into your system early in the day prevents those mid-morning blahs!
I continue that practice to this day but now, in addition to fish burgers or scrambled eggs and toast, I pour 8 oz of milk into a blender, add a banana or strawberries or blueberries too, an egg and my probiotic, protein blend Extreme Shake from CTFO. I love shakes and this is, for me anyway, a fabulous start to the day! There is protein in the milk and in the Protein Blend Shake mix.
Overview of the health benefits of incorporating eggs into your morning routine
Eggs are a nutritious and versatile food that can be part of a healthy morning routine. Eggs are rich in protein, which can help you feel full and energized throughout the day. Eggs also contain essential nutrients such as choline, iron, and vitamin B12 which support brain function, blood formation, and nerve health. Additionally, eggs are easy to prepare and can be cooked in various ways to suit your preferences and dietary needs. Whether you enjoy them scrambled, boiled, poached, or as an omelet, eggs can provide you with many health benefits when consumed as part of a balanced diet.
Time-saving tips for busy mornings: Prepping ingredients the night before
One of the best ways to save time in the morning is to prepare some ingredients the night before. This can help you avoid spending too much time chopping, peeling, or measuring when you are in a hurry.
For example, you can cut up some fruits and vegetables for a smoothie or a salad, and store them in airtight containers in the fridge. You can also measure out some dry ingredients for a pancake or muffin batter, and keep them in a ziplock bag or a jar. Then, in the morning, all you have to do is add some wet ingredients and cook.
Prepping ingredients ahead of time can also help you reduce food waste, as you can use up any leftovers or produce that is about to go bad. By doing this simple step, you can make your mornings more efficient and enjoyable.
5-Minute Breakfast Marvels with Eggs

low carb wrap
If you’re looking for a delicious and nutritious breakfast that will keep you satisfied for hours, look no further than this scrambled egg veggie wrap! It’s easy to make, packed with protein, fiber, and vitamins, and tastes amazing. All you need is a tortilla, some eggs, cheese, and your favorite veggies. You can customize it to your liking. Either way, you’ll love this wrap! I like a good amount of butter in the fry pan and scramble the eggs on a medium heat.
